Στις 23-25 Απριλίου 2026 ο αναπληρωτής καθηγητής Marius Salynas θα επισκεφθεί το Τμήμα μας για ένα 3ήμερο workshop με τίτλο “Binaural projection of live recorded sound using surround sound digital processing simulation and psychoacoustic rendering capabilities”
“Binaural projection of live recorded sound using surround sound digital processing simulation and psychoacoustic rendering capabilities”
The purpose of this project is to record the interesting, historical, different environments of the city with several mobile phones, synchronously and authentically recreate this soundscape, using the digital Adobe Audition software.
Equipment used by participants: personal smartphone or iphone, simple headphones, computer and Adobe Audition (trial version available).
The purpose of the project: to record several (depending on the number of participants) ambient sounds of urban areas at the same time using mobile phones (each participant suggests his location and guides his recording).
Before the meeting:
Everyone individually chooses the location where you would like to record the sound. I suggest choosing the most historical, famous places, not further than the old town of the city, walking distance.

You will guide the sound recordings at your locations, also edit these sounds with Audition the next day.
Everyone please install the Adobe Audition trial version on you computers, if you don’t have such (not earlier than 7 days before):

Schedule:
April 23 at [afternoon, at time to be arranged with participants] meeting at the University. Short conversation and going to locations. Approximately 2-3 hours.
When you return home, you will need to upload the saved files to the specified google drive (with name_surname_location).
I would also ask you to take some photos of the locations and upload them to the link.
You need to have only smartphones (and good mood 🙂).
April 24 at [time to be arranged with participants] meeting at the University in a classroom, working with the projects on computers. Approximately 2-3 hours.
You need to have headphones (!), computers (your own or university) with Adobe Audition installed.
